Make way for Nessie!

With our 25th Anniversary right around the corner, I felt nothing could be better than a Scottie from my love. For some reason, my husband couldn't understand why a nice piece of jewelry or a fancy dinner wouldn't suffice. I wanted something "or someone" that would last... I had seen Nessie's picture and I felt a connection. She was supposed to be part of our big family.
Upon going over her pedigree, I found she was related to Anna on her dad's side and to Izzy on her mom's side. She WAS family! This was fantastic!
Homecoming came a week after our anniversary and when life had settled back down to a dull roar. Nessie (Emerald Isle of Loch Ness, that is) came home running here and there and everywhere...she was curious about everything. She will love you to no end. Happy and energetic, there is not a squirrel in our area that doesn't know Nessie. In the house, she calms right down and becomes "the model citizen". She has made our home complete : )

Time for the Scottie pups!

Here is a short video showing one of our biggest joys...The Scottie puppies!
Truly a sensitive personality, I just love the way they interact with each other.
What sweet little babies.

Helllllooooo Izzy!

Isabella was a very shy puppy. Izzy spent more time running from me than to me. I didn't think she'd ever warm up to us, but she has become a very loyal, soft-hearted girl. Her first experience at whelping gave her 9 little ones to tend to and that she did. She has always been so dedicated to her little family. With a little help from Beowulf she has produced some of the most delightful colors of puppies including red brindle, silver brindle, wheaten, black and black brindle. Although, she is our smallest Scottie weighing 17 pounds, she is strong, athletic and agile.
Izzy spends most of her time under my computer chair or following me around the house. From her picture, you can see how outgoing she has become. Izzy is a beautiful gift to our family. One who never ceases to amaze us : ) Izzy says, "Hello."

Beowulf

Woofie as we call him is our only male Scottish terrier. We hand picked him at 7 weeks of age to be the "stud" for our girls. He is a stout little guy just barely reaching his expected 10 inch height at the shoulder. Well-muscled and built like a Mack truck, Beowulf stands proud. He is also very loving and lively. With a whisper of his name, Woofie dances a "jig". He is a delightful character. Guarding our front yard, he finds a short stump to climb upon and rest. He can sit, just inches above the ground and feel 10 feet taller. He reminds me of gargoyle surveying the land. Woofie is the best little guy!

We enjoy the Scottish terrier breed so much that we have to share our little ones with you. I will begin posting not only cute pictures, but at time a video or special link to give these little ones the attention they deserve. My first Scottie, Anna has been nothing I expected. She is the first dog I have ever literally fallen in love with. Anna is a little treasure. I had been informed that Scotties are independant, strong-willed, digging fiends, not willing to walk on a leash. Anna was NONE of these things. She is sensitive, willing, intelligent and a darn good companion. Here's to Anna!
